Knowledge of the subject matter Familiarity of cultures pertaining to both languages Broad vocabulary base in both languages Render complete and accurate interpretations Minimal to non-detectable accent Developed good memory skills for consecutive interpreting Good note taking techniques for the consecutive mode of interpreting The ability to seamlessly transition from consecutive to simultaneous modes 2 to 3 years of experience in simultaneous interpreting * Will strongly upholds the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics	Well read in different kind of texts with sharpened active and passive knowledge. Have comprehensive knowledge of both source and target languages. Have the ability and skill to write smoothly and correctly in both source and target languages. Familiar with the different styles of writing and techniques. Familiar with the principles of editing and punctuation in both source and target languages. Have knowledge of the culture, customs, social settings, and the various manners of speech strategies of both source and target languages. Keen in finding the intended meaning of words in context. Knowledgeable on how to use the various information sources such as different monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, encyclopedias, and the Internet. Familiar with the syntax of indirect speech and various figures of speech in the source language such as hyperbole, irony, etc. * Some translators specialize in a specific kind of text for translating and continue to work exclusively within that area, for example literary or scientific genre.
